In a nutshell: Maintaining weight loss can be a challenge.  This RCT examines a novel approach to motivating effective weight management behaviours. All participants in the treatment group received 6 months behavioural obesity treatment, and were then randomized to motivation-focused or standard skill-based management approaches. Whilst both treatment groups lost significantly more weight than the control, the study concluded that a motivation-focused maintenance program is an effective alternative approach to weight loss maintenance.
