In a nutshell: This paper examines the effectiveness of TAKE 5, a multicomponent weight loss intervention in relation to adults with intellectual disabilities and obesity.  The TAKE 5 programme involved a daily energy intake deficit of 600 kCal and used a personalised dietary prescription.  The study found that significant reductions in body weight, BMI and daily sedentary behaviours of study participants.  These findings suggest that TAKE 5 could be an effective weight loss intervention for this client group, but further research is recommended.
