In a nutshell: This study examines the effects of a 24-week weight loss program with Orlistat 60mg upon participants’ visceral adipose tissue (VAT) in comparison with placebo. Whilst all participants had significantly reduced their VAT, those taking Orlistat also displayed a greater total fat mass loss and reduction in their intramuscular adipose tissue and liver fat content. These results suggest that Orlistat 60mg may be an effective weight loss tool, particularly in relation to abdominal obesity.
