In a Nutshell: Natural England’s Walking the Way to Health Initiative (WHI) has been recognised by the Department of Health for its important contribution to improving the health of the nation. Natural England’s WHI has encouraged hundreds of thousands of people to use the natural environment for the benefit of their health. Natural England hopes to give every GP in the country access to a local WHI scheme so that they can all refer patients to take part in an accredited walking scheme.
